Hi from Will / Licence question - willb - 09-10-2017 Hi everyone. I'm Will, in Bristol, UK. I'm looking at using UserSpice for a Crossword-designing site I'm working on. It looks like it could be perfect for my project - and it's great to see how actively it's being maintained. I wonder if anyone can help me understand what the GNU GPL means for the rest of my site though? If I use UserSpice as a component, does that mean I must release all my code under the same license? How do others do this? Thanks, Will Hi from Will / Licence question - mudmin - 09-10-2017 No. That just pertains to the userspice core. No matter which version of the source you're on, it's available here... https://github.com/mudmin/UserSpice4/commits/master So I think you're pretty safe. I have closed-source projects based on userspice myself. Hi from Will / Licence question - willb - 09-10-2017 Thanks for clarifying, Mudmin! Much appreciated. I'll post a link once I've got it working :-) Hi from Will / Licence question - mudmin - 09-10-2017 I can't wait to see it! |
