That makes a lot of sense. I can work on that for the next release of 3.x and the upcoming 4.x. If you happen to get to it before I do, feel free to post your modified footer(s) on hastebin/pastebin and share the links. People are always using this thing in ways that I never thought of and I'd love to make it as flexible as possible.
