Upgrade path
#1
Hi,

I am currently running UserSpice 4.0.0f and would like to update.

The next available patch is 4.1.2 here https://userspice.com/updates/ but it doesn't say upgrade from like those before it. Will this cause issues if I just follow the path updating files until I reach the latest?

Cheers,
Matt

unless you have altered core files then follow the update path one by one as instructed on each update, the latest is 4.2.6

Thanks, my concern is that as i'm on 4.0.0f if I patch using 4.1.2 – (From 4.1.0 and/or 4.1.1) - could there be stuff that's missing between where I am and 4.1.0?

Well, you can take some solace in the fact that every version of userspice was built on the previous one, so I did it. There are a few patches where you need to run a manual php file to patch your db, and I think there are 1 or two that require you to edit the init. Let me walk you through this...

First of all, it goes without saying, zip up your files and backup your db.

There is a patch to take you from where you're at to
4.01 https://userspice.com/patch/400to401.zip

Then you can go straight to 4.1.2
http://userspice.org/patch/410to412.zip

From there, just follow the patches on https://userspice.com/updates/

Look ahead before you download them, because sometimes there are rollups that jump you 4 or 5 versions if I did a bunch of small patches in a row. The whole process will probably take 10 minutes.
