I was thinking more along the lines of you creating your own event calendar function to become part or User Spice. Something that shows a calendar to visitors/users and where you as an admin can add (recurring and sporadic) events to which users can register through their account. And where you can keep them up to date about the events they have registered for (through e-mail).
