Posted by: ccataldo - 03-27-2018, 05:48 AM - Forum: UserSpice 4.3 and Below - Replies (2)

Hi guys.
Excuse my English, it's not my native language.
First of all, thank those who make this great Web program possible.
My question is the following:
I need HTML textarea tag not accept null or empty values.
I have tried with is_nul(), isset() and empty() without satisfactory results.
first of all, Thanks

  [MAIL]_Could not instantiate mail function
Posted by: alexuco - 03-23-2018, 01:35 AM - Forum: UserSpice 4.3 and Below - Replies (2)

Hi there, a newbie in here but as I've seen above, with the same problems like the old times with de phpMailer. I've tried everything commented before. I've seen now helpers.php code has change because of the issues last year and before, but still doesn't work for me. I've tried with icloud account too, but nothing.Nor gmail nor iCloud I've been able to make them work.
Could be Xampp the problem and I should expect that it will work on my site once it has been deployed ?
This is a big problem, because mail confirmation on sign up, in my case, is mandatory for security reasons.
Any help out there? Thanks in advance
kind regards
Alex

This is the place to say "hi", but I really need to say "Thank you".

I'm not an IT worker. I live on the opposite of it, in the Law Street. Still, I like to play around with PHP and, with minimum knowledge, find my way out in managing small solutions for my small needs.

And, as it would expected to be, came that time when I would need or make use of one or other of my small solutions with other people.

It's true: I was unshamedly potsponing that certain future when it would be nice to deal with users and passwords. I read a little about it, and I guess I could figure out something that might work. Yet, I did some googling yesterday and got know UserSpice. That video "Why I'm passionate about UserSpice" made much sense to me, so I tried to install it in my local webserver, today, by the morning.

Yes, I was expecting to everything go wrong and that would be OK!, because that's my league.

But that went flawless, and for a guy like me, that was just magic. I had no trouble figuring out the logic of the framework (please notice that I'm that kind guy for whom Notepad++ is the closest I could get to a framework) and, although I'm probably using something like 5{3bc1fe685386cc4c3ab89a3f76566d8931e181ad17f08aed9ad73b30bf28114d} of US possibilities, it just works. I could manage to create and assign user settings and permissions in almost no time.

So: thank you very, very much!

Best regards from Brazil.

Hello.

As the net nannies make the www more secure, i am inquiring to see if userspice developers keep these regulations in mind. Im confident security is the forefront of your mind. Some aspects of the topic require the use of industry standards which i am a novice at...only know when another developer points something out.

However, are u aware of this GDPR? https://www.eugdpr.org
It is for protecting EU members which means any site in the world may need to comply.

Thank you.

  Upgrade from 4.3.14 to 4.3.16
Posted by: nessinits - 03-18-2018, 09:49 AM - Forum: UserSpice 4.3 and Below - Replies (7)

Guys,

I just uploaded the modifications of 4.3.16, but when I try to upgrade the database schema I get "Finished applying 0 updates."

And in the main schreen it says "Warning! Your database is out of date. Please click here to get the latest update. Failure to do so, could cause system instability."

Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong and how to solve it?

Kind regards,
nessinits
